I downloaded the Skype app just for the heck of it and it crashed every time I clicked on a text field! What? I tried a reboot, reinstall, nothing … Oh, there is one more thing I could try ..
Turn off Clippy.
Yup, that was it. Now when I first tried to login, it sat there spinning its wheels, so I had to close the app and restart it again. I’m guessing the word is out, that its out, and their servers are getting overloaded.
Now I’m not all that excited over this app for the simple reason that I’ve had skype access for quite awhile through other VoIP apps. (check these). Still, its nice to have something native.
I made a test call on it and it performed just as well as to be expected. Now lets see if I use it.
